Meet Leslie

For those of you who haven’t yet heard the news, Leslie has joined our team! Leslie is Dave’s older sister. We are so excited to have her craftiness and expertise on board. This decision has been a long time coming, and over the holiday season, we moved Leslie home from Brooklyn, NY.

Leslie is a super talented lady. Anything from sewing, to paper craft, to cooking or baking, to color selection and interior design, or knitting, Leslie does it… and well. We like to joke that she has been bred for this job :) The Poyzers weren’t allowed to watch much television growing up. So instead of watching cartoons on Saturday mornings, you’d find her watching cooking shows on PBS while folding laundry. Instead of playing with an Easy-Bake Oven, Leslie perfected flour “pies” and other concoctions in her mother’s real-life, adult-sized kitchen. By age six she was making tasty rice crispy treats all on her own.

We are now offering wedding planning services and baked goods (yes, wedding cakes!), and Leslie is the gal bringing them to the table. So if you’re in need of a wedding planner, day-of coordinator, or just someone to consult with to help get your wedding planning and decor ideas headed in the right direction, get in touch with Leslie. She is one of the friendliest people I know and such a joy to work with. I know you’ll love her too.

As a Poyzer, I continue the creative genes. If I am not working on the next decor project, I’m in the kitchen trying out a new recipe.

In college, I studied Interior Design, Marketing, and Fashion Design Merchandising – all being a part of my creative mix. I love using my talents to creatively solve problems, making things both pleasing to the eye and functional. In the past, I used my skills to successfully develop interior spaces that would fuse two individuals tastes into one; a skill I now use as a wedding coordinator. It is important to me to incorporate an engaged couple’s personalities, interests, and traditions into their wedding day. These elements are what make their day truly, uniquely special.

In the kitchen you will find me and my Kitchenaid Mixer (we are best friends) covered from head to toe in flour. I scour through cookbooks and food blogs looking for new recipes to try out on all my family and friends. I find so much pleasure in baking for others and seeing the delight on someone’s face as they sample my latest baked good. I love to see how food brings everyone together and gives us a sense of tradition and family, especially at a wedding.

The days I am not in the kitchen or coordinating a wedding I am producing stories for Do It Yourself magazine, a Better Homes and Gardens publication. It’s yet another outlet for me to use the many talents I’ve been so blessed with.

I’m so excited to be working alongside David, Mariah, and Joey. We’ve been having a great time, and I can’t wait to get started on your next wedding project.”
